Lowther Hall is an inclusive school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, committed to excellence for all. Situated in Essendon, it is the only Anglican independent school for girls in the area. The School has an enrolment of 900, a size which enables each girl to be known as an individual. Lowther Hall is a learning community in which staff and students work together to achieve the shared goal of educating the whole girl for the whole of life.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful applicant should be an excellent classroom practitioner whose teaching is informed by contemporary educational research, especially in the area of dance pedagogy. They will be committed to their own learning and professional development. Passionate about their field, they will demonstrate the ability to build a culture of success in and enjoyment of their subject by students and to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
This role also involves pastoral care and participation in the co-curricular program.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates who address the selection criteria will be eligible for shortlisting.
Applicants should provide a statement of no more than 300 words which outlines the ways in which they fulfil the following criteria:
1. Appropriate qualifications as a Dance Teacher and VCE VET Dance Trainer
1. Experience in, and a demonstrated passion for choreography
2. A proven record as an outstanding dance teacher / teacher candidate
3. Success in fostering in girls a love of learning and a commitment to excellence
4. A proven ability to develop productive relationships with students, staff and parents
5. Excellent organisational, administrative and presentation skills
6. An understanding of the Lowther Hall context and requirements for ensuring child safety
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Current VIT registration
2. Willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check upon appointment
3. Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate – with a commitment to on-going training
4. Current anaphylaxis management qualification
5. Current asthma management qualification
