**Role Overview**
This position supports Council's direction by undertaking plant and labouring tasks (primarily focused on Slasher Operation), as part of a multi-disciplined team that is responsible for the maintenance of Council's infrastructure assets in accordance with recognised standards.
**What we are looking for**:
- Operate and maintain medium complexity plant and equipment in a competent and efficient manner to deliver council's work program in accordance with the level of the Award.
- Perform labouring tasks in a protected, competent, efficient and timely manner to deliver councils work program to quality standards.
- Identify new ways to improve work practices in accordance with council's continuous improvement commitment.
**Essential Knowledge & Skills**:
- Demonstrated experience operating medium rigid tractors and slashers in various terrain
- Demonstrated physical agility and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting and bending.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain harmony within a team and foster good working relationships with all council employees and members of the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision
**Essential Requirements**:
- RIIMO0315A Conduct tractor operations, or willingness to obtain this competency
- Queensland 'MR' Class driver's licence or above that is current and maintained.
- Competency RIIWHS302D Implement Traffic Plans (Level 2)
- Construction Industry White/Blue card.
