*The Opportunity*
* Due to the growth currently being seen on The Sunshine Coast, the firm seek to hire an experienced and well networked Family Lawyer to manage matters relating to parenting, property and domestic violence. This may include divorce, de-facto arrangements, cohabitation, separation, binding financial agreements, child custody disputes and arrangements, pre-nuptial agreements and a broad spectrum of domestic violence.
* Reporting directly to the Director, you will operate at Associate or Senior Associate level, based on experience.
* You will act in a range of client matters relating to property, parenting and domestic violence. You will also regularly deal with high-net worth clients, with complex asset pools.
* You will be confident in drafting documents such as Binding Financial Agreements, advising on settlements and attending court where necessary.
* You will appear in court at various hearings and be competent in briefing counsel where appropriate. You will also offer mediated approaches where suitable.
* You will provide empathetic advice surrounding domestic violence matters and refer clients to the appropriate support services and and networks.
* You will handle parenting matters with a child-centric approach, ensuring custody, child support and welfare matters are managed sensitively and professionally.
* You will proactively contribute to the growth of the practice area through continuous commitment to marketing and networking initiatives.
* You will collaborate effectively with the support / marketing team to increase brand awareness via article writing, mailers, clinics and learning lunches.
* You will work with reasonable and expected autonomy for your level of experience, with ample support with more complex matters.
* Success in this role will be measured by growth of the department, client feedback, achievement of billable hours / financial KPIs and contribution to the wider team culture.
* Typical billable hours targets are 5 per day, providing a good work / life balance.
*About You*
* Relevant legal qualifications - A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and Admission as a solicitor by the Supreme Court.
* Experience in Family Law, across parenting, property and domestic violence, from a reputable firm.
* Experience dealing with high-net worth clientele with complex asset pools and/or business interests.
* Experience drafting binding financial agreements and confidence attending court where necessary.
* Experience in court appearances, instructions to counsel and mediation matters.
* Strong relationships with referrers and a commitment to continuing growth of your professional profile.
