As a member of our wider Salter Brothers Hospitality team, you'll play a key role in creating meaningful experiences for both our guests and teammates through thoughtful service, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Set within the property is the award-winning Balfour Kitchen & Bar, our kitchen champions sustainable seafood, ethically sourced meats, and hero vegetables, all sourced from a carefully hand-picked team of small-scale, quality food suppliers in New Farm. The menu balances familiar comfort with contemporary flair, creating flavourful dishes that are both approachable and sophisticated. From signature brunch specials to share plates such as saku tuna with watermelon and lime or wild kangaroo salami with house pickles, each dish reflects a story of craft and quality.
The role and key duties
* Delivering our in-house breakfast menu inspired by the finest local ingredients, prepared with creativity and precision;
* Curating unforgettable and personalised guest experiences, ensuring every dish reflects the warmth and quality of Spicers;
* Collaborating with the Head Chef and wider kitchen team to innovate and refine our breakfast offerings;
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards;
* Contributing to menu development, bringing fresh ideas and seasonal inspiration to the table;
* Supporting stock control and ordering, ensuring the kitchen is always well-equipped and ready to deliver excellence.
Essential criteria required to be considered
* Chef trade qualification or experience as Breakfast Chef / CDP;
* Previous experience in a la carte breakfast service / high end dining environment;
* Ability and willingness to commence work at 6am, and work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays (essential);
* An emphasis on quality and pride in your work;
* Commitment, reliability and determination.
