RSL Queensland(RSLQ) isthe largest ex-service organisation in Queensland – providing practical support,assistanceand camaraderie to veterans, current serving Defence members, and their families across the state and nationally.TheVeteran Services department strives to provide all veterans and their families with a streamlined,supportive,and empowering experience after leaving the Australian Defence Force.The department also supports RSLQ's 10 Districts and network of more than 230Sub Branchesacross the state.With theassistanceof the District Administration Assistant,you'llplayavital role byrepresentingState Branch anddeliveringefficient, effective, high quality and stakeholder-focussed administration, coordination, and support function services directly to the District and District President.As ourliaison point between theDistrictand theSubBranchesthat form each District, and State Branch, keyaccountabilitiesinclude (though are not limited to):
* reportingfunctionally to the Regional Manager with the District Presidentbeing responsible forday-to-day tasking
* when appointed by the District Board, act as appointed Secretary of the District andcomply withthe requirements as set out in the Act and the District Constitution (e.g.preparing notice to members, agendas, and minutes etc.)
* assistinginbothdata collectionfromand theeffective distribution of League information to Districts andSub Branches
* deliveringexceptional administrative support including managing confidential and sensitive documentation and information withdiscretion
* organising,promoting, andfacilitatingmeetings, events, and District Branch activities(including bookingappointments,travel,and accommodation)
* leading the District Administration Assistant
* participatinginDistrict activities and events(includingsomescheduled weekend events), and more...
What'srequiredto succeed:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience infast-pacedoffice administrative roles
* Minimum of 3 years'supervisory experience
* Stakeholder-centric approachwith the ability to work withex-Service personnel andvolunteers
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and negotiate in the pursuit of objectives
* Ability to provide quality service to both internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to work autonomously, with limited direction or supervision
* Ability to contribute to a positive work environment and project a professional image
* Good ability to conceptualise and draft communications, minutes, and presentations from scratch on a variety of topics (Advanced skills in MSOffice)
* Formal qualification in business administration or a related field is desirable
