Job Overview
The Role of Senior Construction Lead: A pioneering industrial project in Western Australia requires a skilled professional to lead construction activities, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets are met.
You will be responsible for providing technical oversight, supporting project management, and ensuring construction execution aligns with industry standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Construction Manager as required
* Develop and implement construction processes and procedures
* Provide supervision and technical assistance at manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sites
* Review project deliverables, focusing on constructability and commissioning input
* Prepare construction execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, and mobilisation requirements
* Contribute to cost estimates and project budgets
* Lead constructability reviews and input to project execution plans
* Assist procurement teams with scope definitions, evaluations, and awards
* Liaise between contractors, vendors, and suppliers
* Manage planning and design stages of construction projects
* Ensure safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible execution of construction activities
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or relevant trade qualification
* Formal training in project management desirable
* Minimum 15 years' experience in oil and gas or industrial plant construction, with at least 10 years focused on construction leadership roles
* Strong background in SMP (structural, mechanical, piping) construction
* Demonstrated success on Australian onshore construction projects
* Proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk in complex construction environments
* Strong problem-solving, organisational, and leadership skills
* Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and construction management databases
* Effective English communication skills (oral and written)
