We are currently seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to manage duties related to supplier on-boarding, quotations, negotiation, selection, awarding, and purchase order placement of indirect, production, and aftermarket products and services.

This role involves preparing Firm-Fixed Price (FFP), Not-to-Exceed (NTE) and Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) pricing for the Commonwealth, monitoring commodity pricing, technological developments, and general business trends, investigating potential suppliers for direct parts and repair services, identifying and addressing shortfalls in the supplier base to support commodity requirements, administering all supplier export and import requirements, including customs clearance, expediting quotes and orders from suppliers to ensure delivery, quality, and corporate KPIs are achieved, evaluating technical drawings to determine suitable suppliers and initiate generation of supplier RFQ's in ERP-Oracle isupplier, evaluating repair quotes and teardown reports, evaluating/awarding quotations received from suppliers ensuring Corporate requirements are satisfied, managing supplier performance and drive resolution where required, investigating and ensuring prompt processing of supplier issues, ensuring all Trade Compliance requirements are considered and addressed in a timely manner, receipt of procurement requests via Oracle or Indirect Requisition, converting purchase requisitions to purchase orders, generating weekly and monthly Supply Chain Management SCM reports and provide to the appropriate GDLS Project Manager, prepare import and export permits, providing administrative support for the Online Travel Booking System CTM, monitor Supply Chain Management SCM generic email inbox and distribute correspondence accordingly.

Requirements:

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Managing affairs between GDLS and suppliers, leading discussions and problem resolution
* Cost analysis, proposal fact-finding, negotiations, cost, terms, conditions, and scopes of work
* Expediting and shortage management
* Excellent attention to detail
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
* Demonstrated experience with export/import and trade compliance requirements
* Demonstrated use of initiative
* Problem-solving skills with an ability to think outside the square
* Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to changing priorities
* Ability to gain and maintain an Australian Security Clearance
* Procurement experience with strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, preferably within the Defence industry
* High Level Degree, preferably in Business or Supply Chain Management. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree
* Ability to read or learn technical drawings
* Experience using Oracle or other ERP database, preferred
* Experience within the defence or manufacturing industry, preferred


Bonus Points:

* Previous experience working in the Defence Industry
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
* Expert knowledge of supply chain management software such as Oracle
