The Rural City of Murray Bridge is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our City Assets & Capital Delivery Team on an ongoing basis, playing a key role in delivering innovative solutions that shape our future success.
Position Overview
The Senior Engineer is responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of capital, key, and developer-funded infrastructure projects, providing technical expertise and project leadership to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes that meet community expectations and comply with legislative and Council requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Unit Manager, Capital Delivery, responsibilities of this role include:
* Providing specialist civil engineering advice on the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Council infrastructure.
* Applying asset management principles, lifecycle planning, and whole-of-life cost analysis to ensure sustainable and cost-effective infrastructure delivery.
* Contributing to the development, implementation, review and evaluation of Business Unit annual plans, programs, strategies and services which provide a range of cost efficient, high quality and timely customer responsive services.
* Preparing project briefs, designs, cost estimates, and tender documentation; manage budgets, schedules, and project resources to achieve timely, cost-effective outcomes.
* Providing regular reports including progress and achievements against plan and program objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) which satisfies eligibility requirements for Member of the Institution of Engineers (Australia).
* Experience in providing technical advice on construction methodologies, continuous improvement, and problem-solving for infrastructure challenges.
* Experience in project management in civil engineering, including planning, coordination, and delivery of capital, key, developer-funded & other projects as required.
* Experience in and knowledge of construction materials, specifications, methods, and public infrastructure types (roads, pavements, stormwater, concrete, kerbing, water/wastewater, public buildings).
* Working knowledge of asset management principles, lifecycle planning, and budget/cost control processes.

The position is offered as a full-time, ongoing contract at General Officer Level 7 in accordance with the South Australian Municipal Salaried Officers Award and Council’s current Enterprise Agreement within an annual salary range of $119,455 to $126,819 dependent upon skills, knowledge and experience.
