**Job description**:
DFP Recruitment are proudly working with our Federal Government client in search for an experienced
**Assistant Director, Clinical Operations** to join their Melbourne team at the equivalent EL1 level.
As a member of the regional leadership group, the Assistant Director will provide supportive leadership to the region, including representing the department at stakeholder events, community development and related activities.
Working within the
**Mental Health & Wellbeing Services Division**, responsibilities will include:
- Provide leadership and support for clinical staff and be responsible for the recruitment, induction, supervision, and managing performance to ensure their ability to meet service delivery requirements, including:
- Oversee external supervisory arrangements for regional clinical staff to ensure maintenance of professional standards; and
- Maintain staffing rosters and support workplace practices in line with policies.
- Ensure all clinical activities undertaken in the region is conducted in accordance with the governance requirements, including:
- Oversee all clinical quality assurance activity which may include file audits, centre-based case reviews, outreach counselling case reviews and quality assurance reviews.
- Review and approve in-centre clinician case reports and maintain active awareness of the caseloads of in-centre clinicians through the provision of regular operational supervision and coordination of clinical team meetings.
- Provide support and direction to the Outreach Program Coordinators in the region.
- Provide support and direction to the Group Program Coordinator/s in the region and ensure that suitable group programs are available to meet regional client demand.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of clinical policies and procedures and to the implementation of related counselling and case management practices at the local level.
- Provide oversight of Quality Assurance issues related to evidence-based clinical practice across programs and projects within the region.
**To be considered you must have the following**:
- Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist / Mental Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration or
- Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance must be obtained prior to commencing in the position.
- Extensive clinical and relevant management experience.
- Relevant experience within APS, complex case management, leadership and management of clinical teams is highly desirable.
