About Us
Canning Arts Group is a not-for-profit community-based organisation which has been in existence for 50 years. We provide classes and workshops for all sections of the community, as well as studio usage for our members. We aim to provide a positive and happy environment for our students and members.
The role
This role involves working closely with the CAG Committee and member volunteers, dealing with the general public and liaising with other users of Canning Arts Centre. We are looking for a very well-organised person who shows attention to detail, has excellent computer skills, is customer-focused and has an interest in the visual arts.
Duties & responsibilities
* Organising classes and workshops (including enrolments, the hiring of tutors and investigating new programs for our artists)
* Organise maintenance, cleaning and repairs on building and equipment
* Dealing with inquiries made by the general public
* Liaising with the CAG Committee, tutors, students and members
* Liaising with other groups who use the Canning Arts Centre to maintain harmony & cooperation
* Maintaining CAG's website and social media
* Preparing reports as required
* Processing payments, maintaining petty cash, reconciling daily transactions and some bookkeeping
* Flexibility to provide holiday relief
* General office management, including maintaining records efficiently and following CAG processes and policies
* Other duties as required
Skills and experience
* Full unrestricted Australian working rights
* Excellent people skills
* Previous experience as an office coordinator/manager
* Excellent computer skills including experience with Excel, Word, Publisher and Outlook
* Experience with Social Media platforms
* Good time management and the ability to work unsupervised
* Some financial experience (knowledge of Xero would be useful)
* Website maintenance
* Familiarity with TryBooking (or similar) an advantage
* Working with Children Check
Pay Range - $30 to $34 per hour dependent on experience.
