Procurement Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase requisitions into purchase orders, ensuring all purchases provide value for money and conform to our policies.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process Purchase Requisitions: The Procurement Specialist will process purchase requisitions into purchase orders from the SAP Buyer Queue in line with established SLAs.
* Ensure Compliance: The role requires ensuring that all purchases comply with our policies and avoid unfair business practices.
* Negotiate with Vendors: The successful candidate will research, negotiate, renew, cancel or initiate bids for materials, parts, equipment and services used by us; evaluate product quality, costs, warranties and requirements.
* Sourcing New Suppliers: The Procurement Specialist will source new and improved materials, tools, parts and services; interview vendors for reliability and delivery capability.
* Manage Overdue POs: The role requires running weekly Overdue PO reports, chasing for status, updating due dates and adding notes or attachments as needed.
* Consult with Internal Departments: The successful candidate will consult with internal departments on changing needs and respond to queries promptly.
* Support Shipping and Export Compliance: The role includes supporting shipping and export compliance, including freight quotations, bookings and tracking.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Purchasing Cycle Knowledge: The successful candidate should have an understanding of the purchasing cycle and requests for quotation.
* SAP ERP System Experience: Experience with SAP ERP system is required.
* Microsoft Systems Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft systems is essential.
* Excellent Communication Skills: The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service skills are required.

Additional Requirements:

* Flexibility: The role requires flexibility for occasional outside-hours work due to global operations.
* Successful Police Check: A successful police check is required.
