About the Role We're looking for an experienced values-based Board Director to join our board as we provide critical stewardship and leadership, ensuring Opendoor meets its legal obligations and strategic objectives. This is an honorary position with a two or three-year term to be negotiated (maximum term for directors is nine years).Key Duties and Responsibilities The Board of Directors is legally and ethically responsible for all activities of the organisation. To that end it:Determines how the organization will carry out its purpose through long and short-term planningAdopts an annual budget and provides financial oversightDevelops, approves and reviews the organisation's policiesRecruits, orients, and develops DirectorsHires and evaluates the performance of the Chief Executive OfficerEvaluates its performance and overall performance of the organization in achieving the purposeAbout You You're an experienced governance professional with many years' experience on boards including large not-for-profit boards of a similar size to Opendoor Ltd. You will have strategic and financial acumen, strengths in governance and experience with Government engagement.
