Manager - Financial Services Audit
The opportunity
As our Manager in the Financial Services Audit practice, you will help our clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights. You will anticipate risk, team effectively across EY, and identify opportunities to enhance trust, focusing on overall audit quality, and building excellent client relationships. You will focus on account strategy and delivery, maximising the possibilities from data and technology.
This position is based in Warrang - Sydney. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
* Manage the audit engagement by defining audit strategy, in consultation with the Senior Manager / Partner, and executing it in compliance with our policies and protocols.
* Effectively manage the audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters.
* Lead and manage fieldwork on clients' sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the audit process.
* Leverage your expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.
Skills and attributes for success
* At least 6 years' experience of external audit experience, including planning, execution and reporting on audits.
* A relevant degree and/or progress towards/completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
* Expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.
* Proven experience in delivering external audit and assurance engagements.

* The ability to develop and maintain deep relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and providing value added recommendations.
* The ability to create a positive learning culture, and coach and counsel junior team members to help them to develop.
