The organisation
Yulara Anangu Corporation (YAC) is a newly established, Anangu-led charitable organisation based in Yulara, created to support Anangu leadership in the management, operation and future of the township. YAC represents a significant step toward self-determination, ensuring that Traditional Owners have a strong and lasting voice in decisions about their land, community and future.
As the organisation moves through its establishment phase, there is a strong focus on building sustainable governance, transparent communication, and meaningful engagement with Anangu communities, members and key stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an organisation of deep cultural, national and community significance at a foundational stage.

* Flexible, part-time structure (3-4 days per week), with remote working options
* Exposure to culturally rich and diverse communities
* Travel opportunities (6-12 weeks per year) across Central Australia
The role
Working closely with the Board, General Manager and community representatives, you will translate complex information into clear, plain-language messaging and shape YAC's voice. You will develop culturally grounded communications that are accessible to diverse audiences, while establishing frameworks that support transparency, trust and strong engagement with members, communities and stakeholders.

* Create clear, accessible and culturally appropriate community updates, member communications and announcements
* Collaborate with interpreters, artists and community leaders and support community engagement activities and events
* Establish communication systems, templates and digital asset libraries and support Board communications
Skills and experience required
You have a background working in community-controlled, not-for-profit organisations or within Anangu or Central Australia contexts and value storytelling, community voice, and culturally respectful engagement. You bring a genuine commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and are motivated by contributing to a purpose-driven organisation in its early stages.
You have:
* Ability to translate complex information into plain language and a strong understanding of culturally appropriate communication practices
* Experience creating digital and visual content (social, video, design), managing websites and social media platforms
* Confidence working with diverse stakeholders and community groups and can navigate competing views and project deadlines
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience in Central Australia or working with Anangu communities and organisations is favourable.
