Overview
This role offers exposure to a broad and varied body of work and is well suited to someone who is organised, collaborative and keen to develop their skills. We welcome candidates with experience in procurement, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, administration, and research involving the use and manipulation of data, as well as those with general familiarity with ICT environments.
In this role, you will support negotiations by coordinating activities, preparing briefs and meeting records, tracking actions, and undertaking research and analysis to inform negotiation positions, while working collaboratively with stakeholders across government under guidance.
Responsibilities
* Support negotiation activities as a coordinated project by assisting with planning, scheduling, and tracking actions and deliverables.
* Prepare and maintain clear, practical negotiation documentation, including meeting packs, briefs, discussion papers and supporting materials.
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders across government by helping organise meetings, preparing agendas, capturing notes and following up agreed actions.
* Undertake research and basic analysis to support negotiation positions, including reviewing vendor information, usage patterns and key issues.
* Assist with the use of available data (such as pricing, licensing or usage information) to support briefings and informed decision making.
* Provide clear, accurate and timely written support to internal teams and senior leaders, contributing to briefs and other supporting materials.
Role level and eligibility
APS6 officers are expected to exercise greater judgement and autonomy, while APS5 officers will operate with closer guidance.
Please note: Our work is high-impact and highly collaborative. This role is based at our vibrant DTA Canberra Office, fostering close collaboration and in-person engagement during critical vendor negotiations. Consequently, candidates are required to reside in Canberra, however, we do offer flexible work-from-home requests considered in line with DTA policy.
