**About the role**
The Philanthropy Manager (Foundation & Special Projects) is responsible for the management of the Foundation Boards in Australia and the UK. Both Foundation Boards are a sub-committee of the Board comprising volunteer community leaders and philanthropists who are united in their efforts to expand and enrich the support network around the Ballet. This position takes a strategic lead on all stakeholder management, foundation board governance as well as event management, ensuring operational effectiveness, as well as long-term growth of the foundations. This role works in partnership with the Philanthropy Management team in establishing initiatives to increase annual donations and to acquire new donors.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
**Foundation Board Governance and Management**
- Lead all stakeholder management for the Foundation Board Chair, Chapter Chairs and all Foundation Board members
- Prepare correspondence and briefings for key stakeholders as per Chair and Chapter chair requirements
- Ensure all board documents are current and available on Diligent, and that Diligent access is assured
- Prepare agendas and take minutes at Board meetings and prepare draft minutes & action lists for review by Chair and Philanthropy Director, and then distribution.
- Manage recruitment & induction of new Foundation Board members
- Partner with the Head of Philanthropy in preparing and delivering all high-level Philanthropy reports and analysis for the Foundation Board
- Partner with Philanthropy Director & Patron Managers on moves management for prospects
- Partner with Philanthropy Director & Patron Managers on gift reminders & renewals
- Manage prospect & other Foundation Board events and ensure that all stakeholders are kept across the deliverables
- Create and manage event invitation briefs, run sheets, briefings and internal communications
- Meet, Greet and Coordinate reception and event procedures for Foundation Board events
- Manage opening night ticketing lists including for use during capital city seasons, regional tours, overseas tours
- Be the conduit between TAB and The Ballet Society, both guiding them on decisions and acting at the key reference point in Philanthropy.
**Philanthropic Growth**
- In consultation with the Philanthropy Director and Philanthropy Managers, oversee the planning and development of the Stewardship Matrix and Philanthropy Event Calendar
- Identify major donor prospects for referral to the Philanthropy Director and Philanthropy Managers
- Identify Planned Giving prospects for the Planned Giving Manager to engage
- Establish initiatives to increase annual donations and to acquire new donors in consultation with the Philanthropy Director and Head of Philanthropy
- Use Moves Management managing the donor pipeline of prospects and guiding donors through the lifecycle: Identification, Cultivation, Solicitation and Stewardship
**Knowledge, skills and abilities**
- Confident and well organised with the ability to work autonomously and with minimum supervision
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a diplomatic style and able to work with people from most powerful/influential to peers and general public
- Ability to meet fundraising goals and timeframes, manage multiple tasks to be self-directed, self-organised and work in a calm manner; to be flexible to meet changing needs and priorities
- Experience and knowledge in managing annual/private giving campaigns, patrons/membership programs, donor identification, research and cultivation, gift solicitation, donor recognition and stewardship and event management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; accomplished presentation and public speaking skills; ability to represent the Company at public forums and events.
- Ability to exercise discretionary judgement and handle challenging situations calmly, graciously and constructively.
