As a Landscape Gardener, you will be responsible for the renovation of existing yards or gardens and the installation of gardens on new builds, followed by the initial irrigation and maintenance to ensure the successful growth of turf, plants and shrubs. Your duties will include concrete, brickwork and woodwork for garden installations as specified on plans.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Interpret landscape plans and advise on garden design and appearance.
· Select and plant native, drought‑tolerant species (e.g., kangaroo paw, grevillea, lomandra), fast trees
· Prepare soil, create garden beds, install turf and irrigation, perform initial mowing, edging, weeding, and fertilising.
· Order and distribute soil and mulch to correct thickness, coordinating deliveries as needed.
· Create shaded areas with pergolas, sails, awnings, and fast‑growing trees, shrubs, and climbers.
· Construct or install decks, garden beds, benches, pathways, paving, brickwork, water features, privacy screens, fencing, retaining walls, and artificial turf.
· Operate landscaping tools and equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, garden and construction power tools) safely and efficiently.
· Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition; perform routine checks and refuelling.
· Keep work areas organized, including loading/unloading materials and equipment.
· Follow instructions from head gardener to ensure accurate and efficient task completion.
· Adhere to safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
· Safely operate company vehicles to transport crew, equipment, and materials.
Requirements:
· At least 3 years of experience in landscaping.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25Kg frequently and occasionally more.
· Stand, walk, and move around for 6–8 hours per day, including on uneven or sloped surfaces.
· Bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and climb as needed to perform maintenance tasks.
· Operate hand and power tools safely, requiring manual dexterity and grip strength.
· Exposure to sun, heat, rain, and other weather conditions for extended periods.
· Maintain clean and organized work areas, including loading and unloading equipment and materials.
· Ability to function well in a fast-paced, outdoor work environment
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
· A friendly and outgoing personality
· Honest, Reliable, and excellent attention to detail
· Ability to work in hot weather.
· Possess a current driver's licence.
