HOBAN Recruitment is recruiting for the role of Canteen Manager, located in Woden, on behalf of our valued client in the public sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with food safety knowledge and strong organisational skills to lead day-to-day canteen operations at a well-established facility.
About the Role:
* Prepare and serve food items, including planning menus, cooking, packaging and fulfilling orders.
* Interact with customers and ensure quality service delivery.
* Maintain a clean and hygienic canteen space, including regular cleaning of appliances and food prep areas.
* Ensure safe food storage and complete fridge/freezer checks at start and end of shifts.
* Manage stock levels and liaise with suppliers to order food and packaging.
* Record and track stock movements, cash handling and food waste.
* Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and practices.
* Fixed working hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About You:
* Hold a current Food Safety Certificate (SITXFSA005 & SITXFSA006).
* Demonstrated experience in food preparation and kitchen operations.
* Confident using electronic ordering and payment systems.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
* Reliable, organised, and self-directed with strong time management skills.
* Strong communication skills and a positive customer service approach.
* Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks.
* Committed to workplace safety and respectful conduct.
