**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a hands-on position offering significant client contact and involvement across all stages of legal matters—from file inception through to settlement.

You'll be working closely with experienced professionals who value mentorship and collaboration. We offer strong on-the-job training and a solid "buddy" onboarding system to help you settle in and grow within your role. There are no limits to how far an aspiring legal support professional can progress in our firm.

The core purpose of this role is to provide administrative and legal support that ensures the smooth operation of lawyers' client portfolios. Your responsibilities will include document preparation, formatting legal correspondence, appointment coordination, file management, and assisting with procedural legal tasks. Your work will enable our lawyers to focus on legal outcomes while ensuring the highest standards of client service and compliance.

This role is well-suited to someone with previous office administrative experience—ideally in a legal environment, though this is not essential. A legal certificate, diploma, or law-related degree is advantageous but not required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:
Below is a further detailed list of key duties included but not limited to:

- Follow the instructions of lawyers to maintain a high level of client service.
- Field telephone calls and create detailed messages from clients to our legal teams.
- Consult with clients, lawyers from other firms, Court personnel, and all other third parties pertaining to legal files.
- Review files daily with lawyers and identify any tasks requiring action.
- Draft documents and correspondence independently (where required), such as letters to Experts, Affidavits, Particulars of Loss and Particulars of Injury. Training provided.
- Proofread all material prior to presentation, ensuring grammar and punctuation is flawless and all necessary attachments are included.
- Arrange client conferences, telephone conferences, statutory conferences, conciliation conferences and mediations.
- Comply with all Court Orders, including diarising and following up critical dates in the firm calendar.
- Provide back-up administrative support to other legal teams on a needs-basis.
- Back up assistant work for any new client intake service processes.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- Administrative experience in legal - personal injury law, including matters related to TAC, WorkCover, Medical Negligence, and Public Liability preferred, but not essential.
- The ability to work effectively both under supervision and independently, demonstrating initiative and reliability.
- Strong administrative skills, including accurate touch typing and proficient use of Microsoft Word and the broader MS Office suite.
- Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent), preferably with additional qualifications such as a legal certificate, diploma, or legal-based degree considered favourably. All educational backgrounds will be taken into account.

**COMPENSATION**:
Remuneration ranges from $75,000 - $90,000 (plus superannuation) and will be commensurate with experience.
