Maintenance Mechanical Supervisor Job Description
Situated on a large area, our plant is part of an integrated farming and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimizing stress and transportation costs while improving eating quality.
We are located in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district, ensuring access to high-quality feeder cattle and grain for premium beef production. Our plant employs approximately 420 team members with a daily processing capacity of 600 head of cattle, operating 5 days a week.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Developing and implementing maintenance plans to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
* Monitoring safe working practices in accordance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
* Taking a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime and working on solutions to prevent future occurrences.
* Liaising with the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Planner on work orders, work plans, technical information, inspection reports, and other important details.
* Ensuring all mechanical documentation and schematics are securely retained, updated, and maintained.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Post-trade plant maintenance and supervisory experience, including planning and execution, and documentation.
* Experience with pneumatics & hydraulic, refrigeration, and steam systems.
* A high level of competence in fault finding and rectification of mechanical systems and components.
* Sound knowledge and application of workplace health and safety regulations.
* Ability to provide leadership guidance and direction to maintenance personnel, including contractor supervision.
* Ability to contribute to the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities of members of the maintenance team, including apprentices.
