About the role
Thiess is seeking Expressions of Interest for Maintenance Supervisor positions at our QCoal Northern Hub located approximately 100km south-west of Bowen in the beautiful Whitsunday Coast region of Queensland just minutes from the township of Collinsville.
As a Maintenance Supervisor you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and availability of our mobile equipment fleet. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent you will lead and develop a high-performing team focusing on safety efficiency and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Key responsibilities
* Lead coach and develop team members by setting clear expectations monitoring performance and mentoring others
* Manage and execute maintenance work using efficient equipment servicing strategies to achieve targeted service times and schedule compliance rates
* Ensure that work is completed within allowed budget and resources
* Assist the Maintenance Manager & Superintendents in implementing safety plans
* Play an active role in all incident investigations
* Develop and strengthen key internal and external stakeholder relationships
About you
* Experience in open cut coal mining
* Mechanical trade certificate or tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering
* Extensive post trade or relevant mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment
* Previous supervisory experience
* A strong commitment to health safety environment and the community
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Proven experience in maintenance planning and condition monitoring
* The ability to work in a high-pressure environment
* Knowledge of relevant mining related legislation
