We are seeking a strategic instructional leader with strong curriculum knowledge; who is innovative, relational and highly capable educational leader to join our leadership team as Deputy Principal - Junior Secondary. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader who is passionate about improving student outcomes, leading high-performing teams and driving continuous school improvement.
Temporary full-time position until 11 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.
Upper Coomera State College (UCSC) is a Prep to Year 12 campus that provides a caring, nurturing learning environment and offers a range of STEM, sporting, and arts programmes for students aged 5 to 17.
As The Deputy Principal, You Will
* Improve the educational outcomes of students in the school.
* Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
* Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.
The Deputy Principal reports to the school Principal.
The key focus areas
* Strong curriculum leader with deep curriculum knowledge and the capacity to lead Heads of Department in driving excellence in teaching and learning.
* Highly effective instructional leader with the ability to coach and develop staff to deliver consistent, high-quality teaching practices.
* Demonstrated success in building strong partnerships with feeder primary schools, families, and the wider community to support successful Junior Secondary transition and engagement.
* Highly skilled in analysing and using a wide range of data sets to drive evidence-based improvement and enhance student outcomes.
* Proven ability to foster a high-expectations culture that promotes learning, wellbeing, and success for every student.
* Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Deputise for the Principal when required.
* Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
* Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
* Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
