Where you'll be working

Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.

PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.

PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

What You'll Be Doing

The Immunisation Coordinator is a Clinical Nurse Consultant who serves as the point of contact at the Public Health Unit for immunisation issues & is responsible for coordinating those immunisation activities that fall within the responsibilities of the Public Health Unit Director & Operations Manager.

The Coordinator manages the Immunisation Team including the Aboriginal Immunisation Officer Program, the adolescent School Vaccination program & provides clinical consultancy & leadership to improve vaccination awareness & coverage rates, & initiate & participate in relevant research.

Selection Criteria

* Registered Nurse with current registration with AHPRA with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience & three of which must be in the speciality field of Immunisation and / or Public Health & has relevant post graduate qualification or experience in the speciality field.
* Currently authorised Registered Nurse able to provide immunisation services in accordance with NSW Health policy directive
* Demonstrated skills in strategic & clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management & cultural change processes.
* Proven leadership & ability to provide consultancy support on numerous aspects of immunisation.
* Demonstrated skill & experience in strategic & clinical service planning, delivery & evaluation.
* Demonstrated effective communication & inter-personal skills & experience in facilitating & engage in formal & informal education activities.
* Demonstrated experience in documentation & development of complex reports.
* Proven ability to initiate appropriate strategies to improve immunisation rates in the general community & disadvantaged groups.
