Your Opportunity
As The Systems Trainer You Will
- Analyse, plan, develop, deliver and evaluate training related to student and enterprise systems through online and face‑to‑face sessions.
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure training and development programs continuously improve the skills and knowledge of staff to support existing student systems, new system implementations or system enhancements.
This position reports to the Manager, Student Systems Training and Operations.
This is a Temporary, Full‑Time chance until 30 June 2026 unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Ipswich Campus; however, you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deliver and evaluate training programmes and associated learning support materials using contemporary adult learning and instructional design principles, including the development of instructor‑led training, online learning modules and assessment instruments.
- Provide detailed expert advice and guidance to users, leaders and other team members across all functional areas of TAFE Queensland’s student & enterprise systems and associated interfaces.
- Engage, consult and build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure training content and delivery are in line with business needs, change activities, quality service delivery outcomes and advice strategies for continuous improvements relating to training, systems and processes.
- Plan, deliver and present training and development programmes to stakeholders, develop knowledge, skill and ability, and ensure quality and consistency of the service delivered.
- Conduct regular review and analysis of current training materials, assess need for additional content and recommend changes or updates.
- Working with relevant stakeholders, apply knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning theory to create and maintain digital learning programmes, tools and resources.
- Liaise and engage in the student systems and associated interfaces training forums and focus groups.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to assess, re‑design and deliver efficient and effective process solutions for staff and students using system capabilities and functionality.
- Contribute to organisational development initiatives and business improvements across TAFE Queensland to support the drive for organisational change relating to student processes and associated systems.
- Contribute to the analysis and documentation of business process, system changes and business user impacts in collaboration with subject‑matter experts.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of emerging technology and design principles as a basis for the design and development of learning resources.
- Keep informed of Higher Education and VET policies, sector trends, legislative and technology innovations by developing and maintaining internal and external networks.
- Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Initiative.
How You Will Be Assessed
- Knowledge and experience in the design and development of training using a variety of learning and delivery methods, including instructor‑led and e‑learning, and experience with software solutions to develop, deploy, record and capture training sessions and delivery feedback.
- Demonstrated current knowledge of TAFE Queensland’s implementation of Technology One’s student management product, student enterprise systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM B2C, B2E, Employer Portal) and associated interfaces.
- Demonstrated high level of analytical, conceptual and innovative problem‑solving skills including the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, clients, training participants and other team members.
- Knowledge and experience in the analysis, planning and delivery of training for enterprise‑level solutions and the associated evaluation of delivery methods and success.
- Demonstrated ability to live and promote a strong ICT team culture that values the contributions of all team members, is honest and considerate, and through that establishes and maintains a highly respected high-performance team.
