This is a great opportunity for an Associate Lawyer with strong employer-representation experience who is looking to move away from front-end employment advisory work and hone their skills in litigation and dispute resolution.
Unlike many Workplace Relations & Employment Law teams that work across front-end contracting and advisory, M&A DD and disputes work, this team focuses on high-end complex litigation and DR matters.
You'll also have access to a broader range of contentious matters than you typically see in an Employment practice. Rather than a heavy concentration of unfair dismissals and adverse action claims, the practice includes restraints of trade, bullying, transfers of business, redundancy, WHS, harassment and discrimination matters (not just in the employment context), disciplinary matters involving legal practitioners, and ABF / customs issues.
You'll be part of a national Employment practice with access to matters across Australia, while still having the benefit of a close-knit Melbourne team with a high level of mentoring and support.
At Associate level, this is a role where you'll be given a strong degree of autonomy on files. The team is looking for someone who is comfortable being a direct point of contact for clients, has experience running their own matters, and is keen to step into more complex disputes.
