The position entails using one's lived experience to respectfully support and educate clients, consumers and stakeholders about strengths‐based, recovery‐oriented practices and community support services.

Duties

* Provide personalised peer support services to current and former ADF members and their families in line with policy and procedures.
* Share knowledge gained through one's lived experience and recovery to promote awareness, understanding and service improvement where appropriate.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide direct support to clients and with key internal and external stakeholders to influence a recovery approach to service delivery for veterans and serving ADF members and their families, fostering wellbeing.
* Role‐model behaviours that promote mental health recovery and wellness for the purpose of client, community, and stakeholder education and engagement.
* Co‐facilitate relevant group programs and case review meetings.
* Represent the peer workforce to strengthen the organisation's public profile, further enhancing responsiveness and reach.
* Maintain accurate record documentation, reporting and other administration requirements.
* Participate in regular supervision, training, case conferencing and case review meetings, maintaining lived‐experience‐led evidence‐based processes.

Mandatory Criteria

* Lived experience of military service or military family life and a mental health journey, including being a relative/carer of an ex‐ADF member who has experienced a mental health journey.

* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or equivalent, or a willingness to obtain certification and other relevant training.
* Skills and experience in delivery of lived‐experience peer support, or experience in the mental‐health sector, mentoring, coaching or supporting individuals.
