Senior Financial Accountant Job Description
This role plays a key part in supporting financial reporting, inventory accounting, and strategic decision-making across a dynamic retail environment.
* Inventory Accounting: Manage processes to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with relevant standards.
* Month-End Close: Lead activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
* Inventory Balances: Monitor and resolve discrepancies across systems and locations.
* Financial Analysis: Provide insights on inventory movements, cost of goods sold (COGS), and stock variances.
* Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate to maintain accurate and timely inventory data.
* Reporting: Prepare inventory reports and insights for internal stakeholders and external auditors.
* Inventory Controls: Support stock takes and cycle counts.
* Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting of inventory-related costs.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in inventory accounting and reporting processes.
A successful Senior Financial Accountant should possess:
* A degree in accounting or finance.
* CA or CPA qualification or equivalent.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in financial reporting and compliance.
* Proficiency in using SAP and MS Excel.
* Experience within the retail industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
