Project Geologist - Resource Development

THE ROLEApplications are sought from experienced Project Geologist – Resource Development to join our site based team on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
Geological and departmental reporting (daily and monthly reports) completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Conduct high-quality logging of chips and core including key observation reports and graphic logs.
Validate drill hole data including collars, surveys, assays and logging.
Ensure that all technical work quality is maintained to the highest standard and compile reports to record the outcomes of all drill programs and projects.
Ensuring we are collecting the right data and type of data to support a JORC compliant Mineral Resource Estimate and for future mining studies.
2D & 3D geological and structural interpretation from drill holes up to deposit scale.
Collaborate with senior geologists to design effective drilling strategies ensuring delivery of safe, efficient and cost-effective drill programs.
Assist with the day-to-day management of drill contractors by monitoring rig OHS&E practices and ensuring sampling is conducted according to company standards.
Conduct field mapping activities of historic pits workings and outcrops with all mapping being digitised post-mapping.
Evaluate all geological data including sample types, historical reports, data quality & QAQC, geophysical data and geochemical data to identify potential targets.
Target, plan and execute project work and field programs ensuring relevant reporting requirements are met.
Participate in target ranking workshops providing technical input and expertise.
Ensuring that the knowledge of a target/deposit is documented to enable handover to our customers – Mine Geology teams, Planning Engineers, Metallurgists, Resource Geologists.
ABOUT YOU
Tertiary qualifications in Geology
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, including exposure to mine geology roles
Member AIG, AusIMM or similar
Skilled in 3D mining and GIS software, preferably Micromine & Leapfrog and with exposure to exploration geostatistical packages (IOGAS or other)
Awareness of the JORC requirements
An aptitude for Archaean gold targeting concepts and techniques
An understanding of mining tenements and administration
Excellent time management to achieve project outcomes
Demonstrable team working skills
Good communication skills
Concise and efficient at report writing and other geological documentation
Awareness of the Workplace Health and Safety Act & Regulations, and the WA Aboriginal Heritage Act
ERT experience and willingness to join OBM's ERT is favourable
Class C WA manual driver's licence
Current First Aid certificate
