We're a leading network of independent Australian firms, working together to enable growth and ambition for our clients. And our people.
When you join Pitcher Partners, you're joining a team with heart. We support each other. We learn together. We're deliberate about fostering relationships that nurture and empower every individual.
And we're excited by what's possible. We know some of the best new ideas come in the form of curious, talented people we haven't met yet. Perhaps you're one of them.
The team
The Pitcher Partners Tax Advisory Group manage a range of taxation issues. As legislative experts with longstanding institutional relationships with the ATO, this team advocates for effective tax legislation that benefits middle‑market businesses and organisations.
The team provides strategic tax advice across a range of taxes, including:
* Income tax
* Capital gains tax
* Corporate taxes
* M&A/deals tax
* International tax (including transfer pricing)
* Transaction taxes (GST, Stamp Duty and Land Tax)
* Employment taxes
* Managed funds tax
The Tax Advisory Group experience is both diverse and dynamic. You will have the opportunity to prepare written tax advice, assist clients on complex transactions, request private rulings from the revenue authorities (ATO and SRO) and tax compliance – no two days are the same.
Team members also receive regular tax technical training from the National Tax Group. From legislative updates, recent cases, and ATO public rulings, our training keeps you updated on the latest developments in tax.
The opportunities
We are always open to connecting with experienced Tax Advisors interested in taking their next career step with us. We can be flexible and accommodating in fitting suitable experience into the team – we can tailor a role to suit you, your area(s) of expertise, and preferences.
Our Advisors work directly with business owners and key stakeholders to provide commercial solutions that have a meaningful impact for them. With the firm's broad client base, you'll have the opportunity to hone deep technical expertise in particular areas of tax to apply across all manner of situations and industry sectors.
We're focused on outcomes for clients, not internal box‑ticking exercises. You'll be empowered to challenge the status quo and find a way to make things happen to add real value to our clients' businesses.
The breadth of the role means in any one day you might provide advice across a range of technical tax issues as well as being a trusted advisor partnering with clients to help solve their broader business issues. We truly believe our one firm approach achieves the best outcomes for clients, so you're encouraged to collaborate across practice teams to find solutions.
About you
Here are the key qualifications, skills and personal attributes we're looking for. If you tick most of the boxes, but not all, we'd still encourage you to apply. Other capabilities you have may make you the perfect fit for the role, and we can work on filling the gaps together.
* Related tertiary qualifications in accounting, law or a relevant business field, and current experience in the application of various taxation matters in a professional environment.
* Proven experience in delivering commercial taxation advice to a range of clients from different backgrounds and business sectors as well as the demonstrated ability to produce well‑researched and clearly articulated tax opinions and advice.
* Positive team player with the ability to contribute to the delivery of successful client projects.
