The Hornsby Ku-ring-Gai Mental Health Service within Northern Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Unit Clinical Director to work at the Mental Health Intensive Care Unit based at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital.

About The Role
Mental Health Intensive Care Unit (MHICU) is an 12‐bed psychiatric intensive care facility. The Unit Clinical Director will lead, develop and maintain high‐quality mental health services, hold delegated responsibility for clinical governance, and manage senior and junior medical staff.
Purpose of the Position
The Unit Clinical Director will provide clinical management and treatment of patients within the scope of practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee, offer clinical consultation, contribute to teaching, training, research, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
Selection Criteria
* MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible with the Medical Board of Australia, Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or specialist admission. Candidates due to be awarded FRANZCP within 3 months may be considered.
* Demonstrated behaviours reinforcing the CORE Values of the Organisation: Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
* High performance senior clinician experience in acute psychiatry, general hospital psychiatry, community‐based and inpatient settings, including application of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
* Proven management and leadership experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams.
* Experience liaising with senior and junior medical colleagues, GPs, consumers and carers, with understanding of recovery and care coordination models.
* Interest in improvement of clinical governance, quality improvement methodologies, willingness to participate in clinical research, and commitment to fostering the same among staff.
* Experience teaching psychiatry to medical, nursing, allied health students, staff, trainees and others.
* Understanding and commitment to Local Health District, State and National mental health priorities and a valid NSW Driver's Licence.
