This multinational manufacturing company is a global leader in its field with well-known brands in its portfolio.
It is now seeking to bring a junior Intellectual Property Lawyer into its team on a
12 month temporary assignment
on either a
part-time or full-time
basis.
Your new role
As a junior Intellectual Property Lawyer working within the organisation's brand protection team, you will be responsible for supporting the organisation in protecting its intellectual property rights.
This will include:
* conducting searches to identify potential trade mark and copyright infringements in the market relating to counterfeit products;
* advising on consumer law matters including misleading and deceptive conduct;
* managing intellectual property matters to assist in the protection of the company's brand including by way of IP enforcement and/or litigation, where necessary;
* maintaining and developing brand protection management systems, processes and procedures;
* providing specialist support for the training, communication and compliance of suppliers;
* supporting with the creation of marketing counterfeit awareness.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be:
* admitted as a lawyer in Victoria with a current practising certificate and up to approximately 2 years' PAE;
OR
* a registered Trade Marks Attorney with up to approximately 2 years' experience;
OR
* a law graduate with previous paralegal experience who is anticipating admission in the very near future.
In addition, you will be a self-starter with a proactive approach with exceptional organisational, planning and communication skills. Previous experience in IP law and brand protection matters will be highly regarded but is not a prerequisite.
