As a growing enterprise with expanding service offerings, the Finance Manager role is a newly created position to help support the business through this growth.
Job Description
The Finance Manager role will be supported by one report and have a rounded remit. The role would ideally be based in Gladstone, but could be covered from Brisbane with some monthly travel (a few days per month). Core responsibilities include:
* Oversee the organisation's financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting (including around grants and funding).
* Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
* Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
* Manage cash flow and develop strategies to optimise financial performance.
* Collaborate with other departments to align financial planning with organisational goals.
* Provide financial insights to support decision-making by senior management.
* Supervise and mentor a small finance team to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
* Work with auditors to ensure smooth and timely audits.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Manager should have:
* A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
* Professional certification such as CPA or CA.
* Strong expertise in financial management within the not-for-profit industry.
* Demonstrated ability to work with financial systems and software.
* Excellent knowledge of Australian accounting standards and compliance requirements.
* Strong communication skills to present financial insights effectively.
* A proactive approach to identifying and solving financial challenges.
