The Opportunity
We're seeking engaging, reliable Support Workers in Karrathato support people living with disability in their everyday lives and community participation.
This role is well suited to people who communicate clearly, adapt their communication style to individual needs, and enjoy building genuine connections with people.
You'll work directly with participants to support their goals, independence and choice. Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting daily living and personal care where required
* Assisting with skill development, confidence and independence
* Supporting community access and social participation
* Communicating clearly and consistently with participants who have language-processing needs
* Maintaining accurate documentation using EPIC systems
* Working across a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings
Location: Karratha (local applicants only)
Hours: Casual
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Strong spoken English and clear verbal communication skills to meet participant communication requirements
* Ability to adjust communication style, pace and language to support understanding
* Previous experience supporting people with disability and/or mental health conditions (formal or informal)
* Reliable, professional and approachable manner
* Ability to work independently and follow individualised support plans
* Basic IT skills for rostering and documentation
* Valid WA C-Class Driver's Licence (or overseas equivalent where visa conditions permit)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
Desirable
* Certificate III or higher in Disability, Community Services or a related field
* Knowledge of the NDIS and Quality & Safeguards Framework
* Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* Experience supporting people with communication or cognitive processing needs
