Offshore Virtual Assistants (OVA), a well-respected Australian Outsourcing company, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Estimator/Quantity Surveyor for our client, who is an innovative company specialising in electrical contracting and renewable energy solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with experience using Ground Plan software to support our pre-build projects by providing accurate take-offs and estimates.

Part-Time – 20 hours per week

Work-from-home

Roles and Responsibilities

- Use Ground Plan software to conduct takeoffs for electrical project pre-builds.
- Accurately count and place symbols for various components (e.g., LIGHT FITTINGS, POWER POINTS, CABLE LENGTHS) on plans using Ground Plan’s item counting and symbol tools.
- Create bills of quantities automatically through Ground Plan software based on take-offs.
- Perform pricing estimations for various components and materials required for projects.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate cost estimation and material planning.
- Develop component lists with associated costs, ensuring all materials meet project specifications and budget requirements.
- Assist in project budgeting and cost management throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements:

- Degree in the related industry, ELECTRICAL or construction industry.
- Proficient in using Ground Plan software for take-offs and quantity surveys.
- Solid knowledge of solar and or electrical components, R-Codes, and other building regulations.
- Ability to create accurate bills of quantities and provide detailed pricing estimations.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with project managers, suppliers, and team members.
- Experience in preparing professional PowerPoint presentations for client proposals.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in calculations and planning.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in CONSTRUCTION or electrical project estimation.
- Familiarity with Australian CONSTRUCTION AND ELECTRICAL Industry standards and regulations.

Software

- Ground Plan Estimating Software experience is essential
- Experience with Simpro, Xero, and Note Tracker is desirable.
