The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Gardener to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Develop and implement a landscape maintenance program
- Operate machinery and equipment
- Control plant pests, diseases, disorders and weeds
- Maintain grounds and courtyard areas in a tidy state including the removal of relevant waste
- Carry out facilities inspections and report
About you
**To be successful in this position you will require**:
- A recognised Australian Trade Certificate III qualification in Horticulture (or equivalent)
- Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control (ACDC) Licence for the use of chemicals
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be completed

Salary
- Temporary full time (6 months, with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $2 321.10 - $2 424.70 per fortnight

Maintenance Services is responsible for statutory, preventative and reactive maintenance across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. Maintenance Services includes but is not limited to electrical work, fire systems, water cooling, plumbing, heating ventilation and air conditioning, bed maintenance, backup power and garden maintenance. Based in Southport and Robina.
