The primary purpose of this role is to provide a high level of technical and administrative engineering work and support Council's Natural Disaster Infrastructure Recovery team in the delivery of Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) re-construction projects.
Key Accountabilities
 * Apply engineering principles to support the delivery of road, drainage and bridge infrastructure re-construction projects in line with DRFA objectives.
 * Undertake the development of DRFA reconstruction project plans including financial forecast and project approvals.
 * Assist, support and oversee construction delivery partners within project scoping, budgets, and monitoring with quality.
 * Assist with the evaluation of road conditions, which includes assessing damage, estimating costs, and communicating with stakeholders of DRFA objectives.
 * Prepare, develop and contribute to high level documentation related to work matters, manage up and ensure all project related documentation is produced to the required standards.
 * Provide factual, timely and accurate advice/information and recommendations to council staff to facilitate decision making processes on public infrastructure.
 * Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe workplace for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of projects.
 * Evaluate and mitigate the impact of works on the public and initiate and encourage innovative work practices and procedures whilst maximising the utilisation of resources.
We are looking for
A motivated individual to take on a multifaceted role working on the road reconstruction projects within the Richmond Valley. This is a full-time term contract within Council's Flood Reconstruction team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and a strong communicator with experience in project management and civil construction.
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
 * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field (or in the penultimate or final year of Bachelor's Degree) AND experience in a related environment
 * Class C Driver Licence
 * General Construction Induction (White Card)

70-hour fortnight
Salary:
Range from $88,592.40 to $112,476.00 pa + 12% super
