Please note that an administrative payment is in place for staff employed under the Rangers (National Parks) General Agreement 2022 which provides a 5% administrative wage increase (in addition to the salary range quoted above) until the new agreement is registered.

The South West Region's key service deliverables include nature conservation, parks and visitor services, sustainable forest management, fire management, and land-use planning. The region's headquarters is based in Bunbury. Services are also delivered via the Blackwood District, located at Busselton with work centres at Margaret River, Nannup and Kirup; and the Wellington District, located at Collie with a smaller work centre at Harvey.
We are seeking to establish a pool of suitable applicants in the role of Senior Ranger.
Under direction, this position:
* Leads and coordinates day-to-day park operations, ensuring work programs are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with management objectives.
* Contributes to the planning, delivery and review of conservation programs, including fire management, weed and feral animal control.
* Supports high quality visitor services through proactive visitor engagement, incident response and compliance activities. Assists in the planning, developing and maintaining park infrastructure and recreational precincts.
* Promotes a strong safety culture and ensures compliance with environmental legislation.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check and a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria
1. Experience in leading, supervising and managing teams, empowering individuals to work with confidence both in teams and independently to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities, with particular emphasis on the development, management and supervision of park-specific projects.
2. Evidence of well-developed oral and interpersonal skills and experience in building and maintaining networks; liaising with the public, commercial tourism operators, community groups, special interest groups Aboriginal groups and other stakeholders; and in patrol and enforcement procedures.
3. Experience and knowledge of implementing operational plans and works programs associated with visitor management and natural resource management, having regard to the threatening processes affecting native flora and fauna, rehabilitation techniques and the monitoring and control of pests and weeds.
4. Experience in developing and participating in the delivery of, interpretative and educational programs.
