Job Overview
The Remote Area Nurse is a critical role in delivering healthcare services to remote communities in East Arnhem Land. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for individuals seeking to make a meaningful impact on the health and wellbeing of these communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in remote settings
* Lead health education and prevention programs focused on chronic disease, child health, and rheumatic heart disease
* Support vaccination programs and health initiatives that improve overall outcomes for the region
* Empower and mentor Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs) and students
Requirements
* Current Registration and Practicing Certificate as Registered Nurse through AHPRA
* Current Remote Emergency Care Course certificate and/or Advanced Life Support certificate
* Current accredited immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT)
* Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent)
* Manual driver's license
* 3-5 years post-graduate experience with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings
This role requires a strong understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Yol' u people living in remote settings.
