Senior HR role leading workforce planning, analytics, recruitment and learning
We are seeking an experienced human resources (HR) professional to join our People Services team. The Assistant Director – Workforce Planning, Capability and Recruitment is responsible for workforce planning, data analytics and reporting, organisational capability development, and recruitment services. This position also leads, manages and coaches a small team of high‐performing professionals to deliver responsive and fit‐for‐purpose client services.
As part of the Reef Authority's broader People Services team, the role delivers strategic HR initiatives including system enhancements, process improvements, and culture and engagement programs such as the Culture Champions Network, Annual Reef Excellence Awards and the Agency's Census Action Plan. The position also leads the development of the Agency's people analytics capability, delivering workforce metrics, analysis, reports and insights that support decision‐making and reporting, ensuring data integrity, and developing meaningful workforce data products and visualisations that strengthen workforce storytelling, support change initiatives and align with strategic priorities.
To be successful in this role, you will be a leader and a team player, working closely and collaboratively with the broader People Services team, along with a diverse network of clients and stakeholders. With a strong focus on collaboration and client service, the role builds effective, trusting relationships, identifies continuous improvement initiatives, and supports the delivery of responsive and future‐focused HR solutions which align with APS legislative and policy frameworks.
