About the role
Metso Australia Pty Ltd, a leading provider of sustainable technology and services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team in West Perth. This full-time role will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of our key engineering projects, leveraging your expertise in project management and technical leadership.
What you're doing
* Lead and coordinate the planning, design, and implementation of complex engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, and field personnel, to ensure seamless project execution
* Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, addressing challenges and optimising solutions
* Manage project-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes
* Participate in the development and implementation of project management processes and best practices
* Prepare detailed project reports, budgets, and presentations for stakeholders
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of our engineering practices and standards
What we're looking for
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in project engineering or a similar role
* Demonstrated expertise in project management, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver complex engineering projects
* Strong technical knowledge and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to apply innovative solutions to engineering challenges
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both technical and non‐technical teams
* Proficient in the use of project management tools and software, such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent
* Proven track record of working collaboratively in a team environment and mentoring junior engineers
* Thorough understanding of relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices
