The Opportunity
This newly created Business Operations Manager role will suit someone with a strong understanding of the trade or service industry who thrives on improving systems, building teams, and driving business performance. You'll work closely with ownership and our field teams to streamline workflows, improve admin and reporting processes, and implement technology where it matters.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable systems for quoting, scheduling, job tracking, and reporting
Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all business functions
Oversee admin workflows — from job intake to invoicing and post-job reviews
Analyse operational KPIs and identify areas for margin improvement and resource utilisation
Assist with onboarding new staff, team structure, and internal training systems
Lead process improvements across safety, compliance, and customer service
Work alongside company leadership to support growth, resourcing, and project planning
Implement and manage software tools (e.g. simPro, Atlassian)
About You
Proven experience in an operations, business management, or systems improvement role
Strong understanding of small business operations, especially in service delivery
Process-driven, with a keen eye for detail and a "get-it-done" attitude
Comfortable leading change and getting buy-in from teams
Great communicator and problem-solver, with leadership potential
Experience with business/job management software
Experience in electrical, construction, or trades-based industries is desirable but not vital
