The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, SESLHD Primary Care Transition ADHD Service, position is full-time, temporary for 12-months with the possibility of extension. It is a district-wide position, with the location negotiable and travel required.
The SESLHD Primary Care Transition ADHD Service aims to enable equitable, integrated and timely access to developmentally appropriate treatment for ongoing safe management of children and young people with ADHD and comorbid disorders in the community. The model integrates care provided by SESLHD medical specialists with general practitioners (GPs) to provide comprehensive and sustainable assessment, diagnosis and treatment initiation for children and young people with ADHD and comorbid disorders.
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 in SESLHD you will play a pivotal role to the Primary Care Transition ADHD Service in clinical service and consultancy, clinical leadership, research, education and clinical services planning and management.

The SESLHD Primary Care Transition ADHD Service aims to enable equitable, integrated and timely access to developmentally appropriate treatment for ongoing safe management of children and young people with ADHD and comorbid disorders in the community. The model integrates care provided by SESLHD medical specialists with general practitioners (GPs) to provide comprehensive and sustainable assessment, diagnosis and treatment initiation for children and young people with ADHD and comorbid disorders. As a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 in SESLHD you will play a pivotal role to Primary Care Transition ADHD Service in clinical service and consultancy, clinical leadership, research, education and clinical services planning and management. You will utilise your extensive experience and/or qualifications to lead and provide expert clinical consultancy practice in the development and implementation of a service. You will provide clinical leadership, consultation and expert advice to all key internal and external stakeholders whilst fostering excellence in clinical, educational and professional leadership. You will work collaboratively with children, young people and their families, paediatric clinicians and services, general practitioners and other relevant stakeholders. You will provide leadership and direction for quality improvement and clinical service standards and evaluate practice change related to patient care. Your primary goals will be: • To develop, implement and evaluate the new model of care, • Develop and maintain clinical tools, shared care protocols, and Health Pathways, • Provide clinical advice to GPs on medication titration, side effect management, and psychosocial support and, • Support GP Safescript applications to prescribe psychostimulant medication. Selection Criteria

* Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and current NSW Driver's License and willingness to travel as required in role.
* Having at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the field of child, youth and family health. In addition, must have approved postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
* Demonstrated ability to apply clinical expertise in a consultant role and the ability to work independently.
* Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
* Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care.
* Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing change, and developing direction in clinical practice by initiation, utilisation, review and translation of evidence-based research into practice, within a person-centred framework.
* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to analyse data and produce reports.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning.
