Sugar Australia has an exciting prospect for a hands-on and experienced Site Manager to lead our North Fremantle operations in Western Australia. This full-time permanent role involves managing a liquid sugar processing facility, overseeing a broad scope of operational, governance, and contractor activities across our North Fremantle site and Bunbury activities. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of site operations including equipment maintenance, container loading, team leadership, and coordination with local authorities and contractors. You’ll also take on Bunbury WA discharge operations four times a year, requiring travel to Bunbury WA for approximately four weeks annually.
What you'll be doing:
- Oversee daily operations at the North Fremantle site and lead a small team to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
- Manage liquid sugar processing operations and warehousing.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained to manufacturer standards and operates at full capacity.
- Drive a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement through regular safety walks, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Prepare and manage site budgets, operational improvement plans, and financial reviews.
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure product quality and on-time delivery.
- Liaise with local authorities and oversee contractor activities.
- Lead and develop your team through training, performance management, and positive site culture initiatives.
- Support Bunbury discharge operations and travel as required.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Trade qualification (mechanical preferred).
- Current forklift licence.
- Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing/operations (food industry preferred).
- Minimum 3 years experience leading teams.
- Experience with creating and managing budgets.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Knowledge of OH&S; regulations, standards and procedures.
- Experience in continuous improvement and quality systems.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.
