A fantastic opportunity has become available for a highly skilled and talented Commis Chef to join our innovative kitchen team. In your role, you will directly report to the Sous Chef & Executive Chef, and you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operations of the kitchen department.
If you enjoy a variety in your day and are passionate about food preparation and presentation, as well as delivering quality cuisine with flair - then this role is for you
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist with ordering of necessary food items according to business needs and demands.
2. Work with and coordinate the work of Apprentice Chefs in the preparation and production of food as required.
3. Prepare mis-en place as required.
4. Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
5. Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage, whereby you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining stock control procedures.
6. Keep all working areas clean and tidy & ensure all equipment is maintained, serviced, and cleaned to WH&S standards.
To be successful for this role you will need to have:
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Excellent technical knowledge.
* Genuine passion for Food.
* Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
* Excellent organisational skills and grooming standards.
* Understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards.
