Key Job Responsibilities
Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that supports the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.
Deploy, scale and automate our network across many global data centers. This includes existing footprints and new locations.
Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality.
Create simple, repeatable processes, and improve upon existing processes.
Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
Work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
About the team
Amazon's Enterprise Network team helps scale and automate the world's largest and most complex networks. The Enterprise Network provides mission-critical global connectivity for internal services and business applications, datacenter infrastructure equipment, and 1,000,000+ internal users. In this role you will look for innovative and creative ways to automate and scale our next-generation network architectures.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years professional experience working in large scale networking environments with internet routing protocols, concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, and/or OSPF and with network operating such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
5+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network and/or networking systems.
3+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Firewalls, ACLs, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, LDAP, etc.
Experience with one or more of the following routers, switches, wireless controllers and firewall vendor platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Citrix, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, robust troubleshooting skills and work toward resolution
