The Clinical Midwife role is a critical position within our health service. This individual will be responsible for providing continuity of midwifery care to patients, working within a caseload midwifery led model throughout the continuum of pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postnatal period.
This position requires extensive experience and commitment working in midwifery led, women-centered models of care, with advanced skills across the continuum of care. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and demonstrated practice within the boundary of, the current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia professional guidance for Midwives and the Australian College of Midwives National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Extensive experience and commitment working in midwifery led, women-centered models of care;
* Knowledge of and demonstrated practice within the boundary of, the current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia professional guidance for Midwives and the Australian College of Midwives National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral;
* Demonstrated ability and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WA Health Aboriginal Cultural Respect Implementation Framework;
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
* An ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team;
* Proven commitment to quality improvement activities, customer service and clinical governance within the healthcare sector;
* Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
