James Cook University is seeking an experienced and passionate academic to join our Veterinary Sciences team as an
Associate Professor in Equine Medicine
. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of veterinary education while contributing to clinical excellence and impactful research in a tropical setting.
What You'll Do
Lead teaching and assessment in equine internal medicine across tutorials, practicals, and clinical environments
Drive curriculum innovation and development
Provide academic leadership and mentorship within the Veterinary Discipline
Conduct and publish research in equine medicine and veterinary education
Support student learning and engagement through expert consultation
Contribute to the development of clinical teaching facilities and strategic initiatives
What You'll Bring
Registrable veterinary degree in Queensland
Specialist-level qualification in equine medicine (e.g. FANZCVS, Dipl. ACVIM, Dipl. ECVIM)
Proven excellence in teaching and curriculum leadership
Strong research track record with peer-reviewed publications
Collaborative mindset and leadership experience in clinical education
