Our preference is to build a long-term, Darwin-based workforce, offering residential drive-in, drive-out roles that allow you to be home every night. We also recognise the value of broader talent and welcome applications from candidates open to relocating to Darwin (with relocation support available).
We are open to candidates across a range of experience levels, from early-career metallurgists through to senior professionals, depending on capability and potential fit within the team.
About the Opportunities
We are seeking a Plant Metallurgy Professional to support the re-start and ongoing production of our processing plant at our Finniss Lithium Operation.
Reporting to the Processing Plant Manager, this role will play a key part in commissioning, stabilising, and optimising plant performance as we transition into steady-state operations. This is a hands-on role working closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.
Our processing plant produces spodumene concentrate and incorporates a flowsheet including crushing and Dense Media Separation (DMS), with both wet and dry processing circuits. You will contribute to improving recovery, throughput, and plant performance during both startup and ongoing operations.
This is a Darwin-based residential role on a 5:2 roster, 10 hour days, offering the opportunity to be home every night.
Relocation support is available for the suitable candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Support plant startup, commissioning, and ramp-up activities
* Monitor and optimise plant performance, recovery, and throughput
* Analyse process data and implement improvements
* Work closely with operations teams to troubleshoot plant issues
* Support development and refinement of operating procedures
* Assist with metallurgical accounting, reporting, and reconciliation
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the plant
About You
You are a practical and technically strong metallurgist who enjoys working in a hands-on operational environment, particularly during startup and ramp-up phases.
You will bring:
* Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
* Experience in mineral processing operations
* Exposure to DMS circuits and/or crushing and wet plant processing (Ideally)
* Experience in plant optimisation, troubleshooting, and data analysis
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to safety and operational excellence
* Valid Australian driver’s licence
About Core Lithium
Core Lithium is an ASX-listed resources company focused on the restart of the Finniss Operation near Darwin in the Northern Territory. With open pit mining at the Grants deposit targeted to recommence in May 2026, feeding the site’s existing lithium processing plant, and underground development at BP33 planned later in the year, the operation is entering an important new phase of production.
As part of this restart, Core Lithium is undertaking a significant recruitment campaign to rebuild the operational workforce across mining and processing.
