The Role
BGIS is seeking skilled Electrical Technicians to join our Self Perform team servicing Canberra, delivering high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and minor works across commercial client facilities.
In this role, you’ll provide end-to-end electrical maintenance support as part of a collaborative building services team. You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive electrical maintenance across systems including emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructure, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to BGIS quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
Deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across client facilitiesConduct fault finding, repairs, and upgrades across electrical systemsService and maintain emergency lighting, smoke alarms, switchboards, and general electrical infrastructureComplete work orders within required timeframes using BGIS systemsSupport and mentor apprentices and junior technicians where requiredOversee and coordinate subcontractors when requiredEnsure all works comply with WHS, compliance, environmental, and quality standardsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholdersContribute to continuous improvement and safe work practices across service delivery
Your Education, Experience & Skills
Certificate III in ElectrotechnologyQualified Supervisors Licence (or equivalent electrical licence)White Card (Construction Induction)Current Driver’s Licence1 or more years of post-trade electrical maintenance experienceStrong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and collaborativelyFull working rights in Australia (essential)
