AUS Employment is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Technical Writer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technical writing professional with experience in mining, resources, heavy industry, or other high‐risk operational environments to contribute to critical safety and compliance initiatives.
Perth‐Based | 6‐Month Contract with Potential for Extension
About the Role
Working closely with operational, technical and safety stakeholders, you will be responsible for reviewing, updating and maintaining safety management system documentation, procedures, standards and associated compliance documentation.
This position is Perth‐based and offered as a six‐month contract working approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
* Review, update and maintain Mine Safety Management System documentation
* Develop and improve safety procedures, standards and work instructions
* Ensure documentation aligns with operational requirements and legislative obligations
* Engage with operational, technical and HSE stakeholders to gather information and validate content
* Maintain document quality, consistency and compliance across management systems
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within safety and compliance frameworks
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Demonstrated technical writing experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or similar environments
* Experience developing and maintaining procedures, standards, management systems or compliance documentation
* Strong written communication and document control skills
* The ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders across operational and technical teams
* Experience working within HSE, WHS or safety management systems
Highly Regarded
Candidates with any of the following will be viewed favourably:
* Knowledge of Western Australian mining legislation
* Experience working within WA Nickel operations or similar mining environments
* Familiarity with Mine Safety Management Systems
* Experience developing safety management plans, risk controls and compliance documentation
* Experience using TEMPO and D2
